There is a lot worth seeing around Kathmandu valley - and it doesn't end with the famous "must see" spots. Use us as a resource to dig into the wealth of history and culture in this fascinating city. Spend two days touring Kathmandu's most famous landmarks, with a night spent at the stunningly scenic Nagarkot. Follow through with a visit to any one of the amazing destinations around the valley, with a personal guide to ensure your curiosity is not left unsatisfied.

 


Day 1:Arrive in kathmandu
You will be received at Tribhuvan airport by representatives from Mountain Sisters and SLC level students from the Mitrata-Nepal children's home and transferred to your hotel. Join us in the evening for a typical Nepali dinner and cultural program.


Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Nagarkot

Join us for a guided tour of Kathmandu valley's cultural gems - tour the temple complex at the Hindu pilgrimage site of Pashupatinath and see the cremation ceremonies near the banks of the Bagamati river; visit Nepal's most impressive Buddhist stupa and center for Tibetan Buddhists at Boudanath; and Bhaktapur, Nepal's best preserved ancient city and historical Durbar Square. In the evening we take a short drive to Nagarkot, nestled in a cascade of forested hills, to witness a breathtaking sunset over an array of himalayan peaks including Manaslu, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal. Overnight stay in Nagarkot resort.


Day 3: Kathmandu Sightseeing

An early wake up to watch the sun rise over the snow-capped Nagarkot horizon will leave you breathless this morning. After we soak in the view, return to Kathmandu and continue our tour. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, royal palace complex of the Shah and Malla dynasties, and see the house of the living virgin Goddess at Kumari temple. Climb the imposing steps to Swayambunath, Nepal's hilltop stupa home to an amusing monkey population and a spectacular view of Kathmandu valley. Spend the evening touring Patan, an ancient city famous for it's arts and crafts.


Day 4: Optional Sightseeing around the valley

Spend today exploring any of the numerous cultural treats around Kathmandu valley. Drive to Gurkha district and take an incredible cable car ride high into the hills to reach the temple at Manakamana, or visit Dakshinkali, a Hindu temple known for it's animal sacrifices. Options abound depending on your interests - inquire with us to arrange a personalized day of sightseeing.


Day 5: Departure

Thanks for traveling with us, we hope you enjoyed yourself! Transfer to Tribhuvan airport and onward to your next destination.
