Annapurna Region

Annapurna Region

Lying in the central-north, surrounding the peaks of Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and the famous Machhapuchre (fishtail), is Nepal's most popular trekking region, the Annapurnas. This region is home to seven major ethnic groups and a plethora of flora, wildlife, and varying terrain. The Annapurna circuit trek, considered one of the world's best trekking routes, travels through an amazingly diverse landscape of rural settlements and lush scenery,from farmlands dotted with waterfalls and stands of bamboo trees and rhododendrons to the stark beauty of the arid semi-desert, as it approaches the epic Thorong-La pass near the Tibetan border.
